Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2022 is almost here. Everyone is so excited, so we return to get that nostalgic feeling from Modern Warfare and prepare to slay plebs in the new CoD. So I am taking a tiny break from Warzone to play Modern Warfare, and I am having a blast.
After publishing the BEST CoD Modern Warfare Multiplayer Loadouts 2022: UPDATED META, I’ve got some messages asking me how to level up these meta weapons. So this article is for you!
Before telling you what is thr best way to level up weapons, I want to introduce the double XP tokens.

Weapon Double XP Tokens
A double XP token is a consumable which increases your XP for a certain period of time. It is highly recommended to utilize such tokens when leveling up weapons to make the grind faster and more efficient.
It is highly recommended that you are using your Weapon XP Tokens during the grind. It will make it 2x faster. It works for any game mode and any map.
Now, let’s get into that meat of this post.
The Fastest Way To Level Up Weapons In Modern Warfare
The fastest way to level up weapons is Hardcore Shipment. Shipment and Shoothouse are usually combined and called “Shoot The Ship.” It is recommended to leave Shoothouse games as they are generally slower than Shipment and stick only to Shipment.
It is probably not a surprise that Shipment 24/7 is the fastest way to level up weapons. This is because it features a ton of action in very little time. As a result, you get many kills in a single match, translating into a lot of weapon XP.
While there are more options for leveling up weapons, primarily on small maps with many engagements, after thorough testing, they all pale compared to Shipment. So Shipment is 100% the fastest way to level up weapons in Modern Warfare.
You can play Shoothouse, and I 100% recommend playing Shoothouse in between matches to keep things fresh. Shipment can get boring quickly, and utilizing Shoothouse every now and then can add some “flavor” to your grind. But, in terms of raw XP per minute spent, Shipment is the best.
Hardcore vs Core
In general, Hardcore proves to be slightly better for leveling up weapons quickly. However, grinding levels is a very tedious task, so playing your preferred mode is better to ensure you are more likely to keep grinding. Overall, both are excellent choices.
Sometimes I play hardcore, and sometimes I play Core. I feel a slight advantage for hardcore but nothing serious. In the end, it doesn’t matter much, and if playing Core is more engaging and fun for you, so be it. As I said, you will be more likely to keep on grinding.
In general, this is the fastest method. Shipment is very engagement-heavy and there are so many opportunities for you to get kills. The more kills in a single match, the more XP you get. So make sure you get as many kills as you can.

Tips For Shipment
- Always use an EXP Token.
- Make sure to get as many kills as you can.
- Play a Shoothouse match every now and then to keep things fresh.
The problem with this method is that playing Shipment nonstop can be pretty tedious. However, players have found a passive way to level up weapons with little effort very quickly.
Caldera Clash
Caldera Clash is a Warzone 50v50 game mode that has many bounty contracts. The secret is utilizing the bounty contracts and getting as many contracts done in a single match. Killing your opponents is not necessary as you are letting your other 49 teammates do the job for you.
The advantage this game mode has is that it is very easy and almost passive. You can watch a TV series while doing this, and generally, you do not have to pay almost any attention.
The second advantage is that your skill level doesn’t matter. You can be a new player with 0.5 KD and you will still achieve very good results with this method.
How To?
- Make a loadout with your preferred weapon and use the Pointman perk as you will receive extra EXP for successfully completed contracts. Because this method utilizes contracts, this perk can increase your XP per match.
- Once you are in the game, start going for contracts. Once you pick one up, immediately go for the next one. Remember, do not kill your bounty contracts. This will be done by your other teammates.
This method works because there is a contract multiplier. When you finish a contract, the next contract gives you more EXP than the previous. And then it’s just snowballing and snowballing.
Tips For Clash
- Always run with the weapon you want to level. Getting a bounty contract done with your secondary in your hands, will grant the XP for your secondary weapon.
- Fill your team so your teammates can pick up contracts as well.
- Use the Pointman perk.
- Make sure you got a route in your head of bounty contracts. You already know where your next one is and the next one after it.
- Contracts reset at 7:30. So if at 9:00, there are no contracts left, go ahead, and fight, but be prepared for 7:30. I usually just suicide at 7:40 so I could fly to our spawn and start picking up contracts.
- Use an EXP Token. I will get into that in a second.
The downside of this method is that it is constantly getting cycled with other game modes so you can’t rely on this method to level up your weapons.
Final Words
The two fastest ways to level up weapons in Modern Warfare are playing Hardcore Shipment and Utilizing the Clash game mode in Warzone. Both methods were proven very effective. However, Hardcore Shipment nets more XP per minute, while Clash offers a lazy way to level up weapons.
