Last 100 games KD is standing at 3.10. Safe to say I am pretty satisfied with my skills in Warzone and I want you to be satisfied with your skills as well. Warzone has many mechanics which you have to nail down if you want to be one of the sweats – aiming, movement, looting etc. Let’s start one by one and get you to masters.

Part 1 - Aiming

Edit: I actually published a post about Warzone Aim Training. It goes way more in depth than here and you should check it out: Warzone Aim Training: Be The Best Aimer On The Island

TL:DR

  • Setup – you don’t need to have the best setup in the world. Just make sure you don’t play on a potato and you are comfortable in your seat. If you are comfortable, you will do better.
  • Aim Training –  By now, you should be rocking a full training routine either on Aimlab or Kovaaks. If not, go ahead and check out my full dedicated article for aim training: Aimlab 101: Zero To Hero. One of the best tools available to you leaving console players sad. (Unless they use Aimlab too, I don’t know)
  • Shipment – Playing Shipment on MW is a great way to get better. It is so chaotic and full of non-stop action and you will get many kills. Imagine dropping into Warzone, and on a good game, you get 10-15 kills. Maybe 20+ if you’re like me. In Shipment you can get 75 kills in 10 minutes. Way faster, way more engagements and fights, just a really good way to practice on aiming. (And movement as well, but we will get into that later.)
  • Custom Match – Go into a custom lobby, (Shipment / Aisle 9 / Killhouse / King / Speedball etc), FFA, easiest bots, and just click heads. Make sure to tap enemies so you can focus on crosshair placement and precision.
Then, you can put enemy health at 250/300 to mimic Warzone HP. By doing that, you will shift the focus to a more tracking-heavy routine. Make sure to utilize both of the practices. You can even turn headshots only if you like.
  • Land Hop Spots – Pretty self explanatory. Maybe, I should just say, don’t drop Harbor or Ships. Just go to a place where you will find enemies so you can practice.
  • Always Remain Present – I cover in in the general section in just a minute.
  • Stay consistent with your practice. Don’t skip days.
  • Eat healthy, stay hydrated, sleep well, and stay calm.
  • Crosshair placement – make sure your crosshair is aiming at something. The door, the window. At head levels, all the time.

Part 2 - Movement

Movement is a crucial part of Warzone. Everyone in a higher KD lobby is just bunny hopping and slide canceling non-stop like everybody is on cocaine. You should be too lmao.
This is the hardest part to explain, so I will be real with you. IMO, the best way to learn movement mechanics is by mimicking what the pros are doing. Go to a good sweaty player in Warzone and watch their movement. Watch how they peek, watch how they run away. Watch what they do in fights. Are they drop-shotting? Are they slide canceling often? And try to mimic their behavior. There are 4 key elements:

Disclaimer – I tried to write and explain how to do each one of the key elements, but it turned out to be trash and it’s just way easier to look it  up on Youtube and see it on video. I recommend watching this guide:

  1. Slide Canceling – Use it to move quickly around the map. If you slide cancel twice, it resets your stamina for running.
  2. Bunny Hopping – Use it to peek. No one expects a hopping bunny with an AK-47 hopping on you at full speed. Instead of just jump peeking, make sure to to jump and the moment you touch the ground again you jump again.
  3. Drop Shotting – Is their crosshair placement perfect? That’s great – you’re gonna drop down and it will mess with their crosshair placement. It is funny – if you play against really bad players it will work against you as bad players aim at the floor. If you drop down – they will hit you lmao. But you should add this ASAP.

There are more mechanics, but these are the main ones you should focus on. The rest comes just by implementing these and watching the pros. You will unconsciously develop new movement combos.

These mechanics should be in your muscle memory. Often people tell me I sweat when in reality, I am not. I just know these by heart and implement them in my fights without thinking about them. It is automatic. Pure muscle memory. And it is a great feeling.

Before you rush into Rebirth to try and implement these movements, go to a custom lobby and practice these mechanics. You will be stress free as there are no opponents and once you master them you can try and drop into the Island.

Part 3 - Environment

  •  Get familiar with the map – you should know every building by heart, every maneuver available. It should be like your own hand.
  • Get your loadout – drop, loot, loadout, win. That’s how it goes. Everybody is playing with the ground loot? You are already running the best meta weapons and you are ready to devour.
  • Money – Getting a self-revive kit, armor plates, UAV etc. It’s gold and you should prioritize getting money as it is very, very helpful.
  • UAV – you can see everybody on the map. What’s there not to like? I pop a UAV and just go and delete a squad. Get their money and pop another one. Rinse and repeat.
  • Gas – please make sure you know your situation with the circle. Make sure you rotate when you need to.
  • Contracts – important! Helps with the money and you can get some useful stuff from it. Supply runs, Scavenger and Bounty are the most useful ones. When I see a bounty, I just take it even if I am not going to push that team. Sometimes the bounty will die to another team and boom. Free cash. Supply runs, gives money, and discounts. Do I smell a UAV? Scavenger, free Satchel and money.
  • Land ASAP – If you drop Bio Labs for example, you should be the first one to land there. Cut your parachute and try to land as fast as possible.
  • Use the ping system – So your friends know where you are shooting. So the randoms will know where you drop.
  • Utilize the fire sale – Free self-revive, UAV for 3000$. Make sure you get advantage of that. Another tip is, after a fire sale, probably 90% of the map has a self-revive kit. Make sure you know that and play around with that.

Part 4 - General

Stop Overcommiting To Gun Fights

So you broke his shield, that doesn’t mean you should run after him 100m. He is baiting you. Only commit to gunfights, you can win. No reason to start a gunfight even if it is 50/50. Make sure you can get away with that gunfight. But don’t go camping in a bush lmao. Just don’t go into fights where you know you are at a disadvantage. Use your map to get the advantage. Use high-ground often.

Presence

Presence is a state of mind. You are focusing on the NOW. It is called “The Zone” by esports players. You don’t think about actions. You just do them. It is a very tough idea to grasp so I will do my best to explain. Basically, just focus on the game. Focus on the training. That’s it. While you are truly fucosed, truly immersed, you will get the best results. I notice that when I have exams in the following days, I play worse than usual. Of course I play worse, I am stressed. That’s totally normal. You get the point. Be fully immersed in the gameplay, in Aimlab, and you will find great success.

Settings And Setup

This game is not optimized. Check out this settings guide: Click Here . It will increase your FPS and visibility so you can perform at your best.
Invest in high quality peripherals. Mouse, monitor and headphones are the three most important. Get your 240/144hz monitor, good quality gaming mouse, and headphones. If you play on 60hz monitor or with a bad mouse. The difference will be enormous and if you are serious about improving, this is a must.

Utilize The Meta

Not all weapons are equal. Some are better than others. Stay updated and follow the meta and use the meta guns. I post an article about the meta every time something new happens, so stay tuned. Check out my newest Meta article: Warzone Best Loadouts For Season 3

Learn From Your Mistakes

Every time I die, I ask myself, what happened? Why did I die? Analyze every death and learn from your mistakes. And please, spare the “bad luck”, “circle was against me”, “they are sweats” etc. It is always your fault. Self reflect, and think about your death. You can even record yourself playing and then review the VOD. Even if the circle is against you, it is not bad luck. It is the game challenging your skills. Accept it, and go take the win. Some of my friends die and complain about their weapons, about the circle or whatever. It’s your problem, you took your time with the loadout. It’s your problem you didn’t rotate. Self-reflection is key. But don’t be too hard on yourself. Learn from it and move on.

This is one of the most important tips I can give you. Do not read it and forget. Every pro player learns from his mistakes. You should be too.

Watch The Pros

Watching the pros is not only fun, but very beneficial for your gameplay. You should analyze their gunfights, their movements, and learn from it. I think I learned most of my movement just by watching the pros. It is so underrated for getting better.

You Are The Hunter

You are the king of the map. You are the sweaty Roze skin that hunts everybody. You should adapt to that mentality and confidence. Everybody is your prey.
You should hunt enemies, wait for a good opportunity, and then jump and leave nobody behind. Don’t be reactive, be proactive.

Rebirth Plunder

Make sure to take advantage of Rebirth Plunder. So much action in one match is unbelievable. I’ve played only a couple matches and already managed to get a 56 kill game.

Keep Practicing

Did you practice today? You did? Practice more. Every pro player puts in tens of thousands of hours into their sport. You want to be a top tier player? Put in the work. Put in the hours.

Take A Break

I know it contradicts the last section, but sometimes you gotta take a break. You’ve lost a couple games and you are tilted? Come back in 30 minutes. No biggie. You gotta let yourself chill sometimes so you can absorb all that information. Make sure to sleep well and eat healthy. Very underrated, but everything is corelated.

You Are A Rebirth Demon

I hope you found this guide helpful. Make sure to comment below your opinions. Thanks for reading and I will see you in the Warzone!
