We all want to have the best aim possible. It is just so fun to click heads and impress everybody.  After thousands of hours in the most popular FPS games available on the market, I would say my aim is in pretty good shape. Not perfect by any means, but that’s why I am still learning and keep practicing to get that top tier aim we all aspire to have.

In short, make sure you are comfortable with your setup. Make sure you have your own aim training routine and you stay consistent with it. Keep practicing and always stay present. Now let’s get started!

Get Your Settings And Setup Right

If you’re playing on a potato with 30 FPS, of course, you’re going to miss your shots. If you are playing with Microsoft Basic, common man… Go and get a new gaming mouse that fits your needs. Let’s talk about all the external stuff that may be stopping you from achieving that god-tier aim:

  • Mouse – Get a mouse that fits your needs. Each mouse has a different grip style. Make sure your mouse matches your grip style. Make sure your mouse is good quality and don’t just buy a “gaming mouse” from Ebay that costs 10$. I use Logitech G Pro Wireless which is the best mouse I’ve ever had. And according to prosettings.net, it is the most popular mouse by the pro players in Fortnite, Siege, Warzone, Overwatch and I bet many more. It is one of the best mouse available IMO. Link Here
  • Monitor – Get a good 144hz+ monitor. It will help you immensely and the difference is night and day. It will help you track enemies and you will see everything way more smoothly. It’s 2022, please get a good gaming monitor. I recommend BenQ ZOWIE XL2546K which according to prosettings.net, is the most popular gaming monitor right now. It slaps. Link Here
  • Mousepad – Just get a big mousepad that won’t crumble as you play.
  • Sensitivity – Get your sens right. It will help you immensely. I have written an article about that:  https://sweatygaming.com/best-sensitivity-for-fps-games/ TL:DR: Lower is better.
  • FPS – If your FPS is low, take care of that. Go, and look for optimal settings for your game, get a new GPU or\and CPU. I don’t care. Just increase that  bi***.

How To Aim Train?

No, playing Aimlabs 10 hours a day is not how you aim, train. But you should do some work in Aimlabs (or Kovaaks doesn’t really matter).
In a nutshell, playing the game and  taking fights in game is the best way to improve your aim. But because most of the most popular games have a lot of downtime, (looting, running etc) you won’t practice on aiming enough. That’s where aim training comes in handy. With an aim trainer, you focus solely on aiming and 100% of the time on aiming. While, if you are playing the game, you will find yourself idling a lot. Check out my full dedicated post for aim training with Aimlab: Aimlab 101: Zero To Hero
Now, you should be set up with aim training in Aimlab and you can keep on slapping.

Presence

Presence is a state of mind. It means you are focused on the NOW. There is no future, no past. Just now. When you are truly immersed in your aim training routine or in your gameplay, you will find great successes. It is very hard to explain, but basically you should be 100% focused on the task at hand. When you aim train, don’t think about dinner. Don’t think about your girlfriend (or boyfriend), just think about hitting them balls. Be in “The Zone”.

Practice Practice Practice

You want an Aim like pros? They play 10+ hours a day. Put in the work. Put it in the hours. Playing the game will just make you better. If you play a game like CS:GO or Valorant or any game that has Deathmatch mode or workshops, maps like Aim Botz and Recoil Master in CS:GO. Grind the hell out of them. You will notice a huge improvement in just an hour. When I played Valorant, I used to do at least 3-4 DM’s everyday. But make sure to more emphasis on actually playing the game. You shouldn’t be training more than playing the game.

Warm Up

You should definitely warm up. Every pro in every sport has to warm up before he goes on stage. You should too, just 10-20 minutes before each session go into Aimlab, deathmatch etc.

Crosshair Placement

You probably know this, you heard it 1000 times. Okay, this is the 1001 time. PLACE YOUR CROSSHAIR WHERE YOUR ENEMIES MIGHT APPEAR. If you play Warzone and you rush a building. Put your crosshair head height on a door, window or whatever an enemy might appear or sit. Always make sure to put crosshair at head height. If you need to barely move your mouse, and your enemy has to flick to hit you, you will probably win the fight. Learn common angles, know the map, and always make sure your crosshair is in the right place. Probably the easiest to do, and most useful tip IMO. A pro player barely moves his mouse, he just knows where to place it.

Dude, Chill

Every time you are in a clutch situation, you start to get nervous? Your palms are sweaty? Mom’s spaghetti? No wonder you miss your shots. When you are calm, you make better decisions; your hands are steady. If you are confident, it will improve your game. The moment you doubt yourself, that’s it. You lost.

Stay Consistent

Make sure you are consistent with your practice. Playing a bit every day vs playing a lot one day of the week. The first one is superior to the other. Make sure you don’t miss your Aimlabs routines. Yes, it is your homework. Don’t change your settings as it takes time to adjust and it messes with your muscle memory. If you lost that fight, it’s probably your fault, not because your sensivity should be higher.

General Tips

  • Stay hydrated.
  • Eat healthy food.
  • Sleep good.
  • Actively play the game. Don’t be zoned out and play on auto-pilot. (especially in Aimlab)
  • If you are stressed, take a break. Mental health is the most important thing. And, you gonna play really bad if you are stressed about work or some other stuff.
  • Practice – KEEP PRACTICING

In short, get a good solid aim training routine, make sure to utilize custom matches and deathmatch if you can. Get a good, comfortable setup for yourself and keep practicing!

That’s it, hope this guide was helpful, see you in game and keep slapping.
