RGB mousepads cost more than regular mousepads. The price is the most significant disadvantage RGB mousepads have. They do not provide any performance or comfort advantages, but they do have a higher price point.
You basically get no other benefit than RGB lights on your desk (Which are pretty cool, not gonna lie) with a higher price point. So make sure to keep that in mind.
2. More Cables
RGB mousepads have an additional cable you have to plug into your PC. In general, today’s fashion is clean, minimalistic, and cordless. Buying an RGB mousepad means you have another cable to manage.
This is not a big deal by any means, but it had to be mentioned. If you do not care about the extra cable or can easily manage it, this con is insignificant.

1. Aesthetics
Depending on your aesthetic preference, RGB mousepads can drastically improve your gaming setup’s aesthetics and looks. Many people prefer the extra lightning and LED style.
