Owen gun is king. The best SMG without a doubt. It got nerfed a bit in the May 4th patch, but it is still the king non-the-less. But, people have found an even better build. A build that hits 61 health to the chest. It means that if you are playing Rebirth, it takes only 5 shots to down a person. And I’ve tested it. And oh boy, it fries. I wanted to be the first person to tell you. You should try it right now!
The New Owen Gun Meta
- Muzzle – Recoil Booster, for the better fire rate of course.
- Barrel – None
- Optic – Nydar Model 47 / Slate Reflector / M38 Slate 2.5x Custom
- Stock – Removed Stock (if Recoil too much change to Gawain H4 Folding. Way more controllable at the sacrifice of speed.) Worth it though!
- Underbarrel – M1941 Hand Stop, the better control.
- Magazine – 8mm Kurz 60 Round drums. Better damage is huge.
- Ammunition – Lengthened
- Rear Grip – Polymer Grip. Choose Fabric if you are on PC and you can control the gun without the need for polymer, it will help you with the ADS time. I prefer Polymer Grip as I like the control.
- Perk 1 – Brace / Acrobatic
- Perk 2 – Quick
Stats
Owen Gun [2] – New Build
Owen Gun – Old Build (Gorenko + Rapid Barrel)
As you can see, when aiming to the upper body (next screenshot), you will kill substantially faster. Old Owen Gun TTK stands at 588ms while the newest TTK stands at 464ms. Basically, it makes the Owen Gun be the fastest killing SMG in Warzone. Now, we are not talking about theoritecal TTK and all that. This is real. Recoil is not bad and it just fires everybody. The only con of this build is its lower fire rate. It shoots pretty slow, so if you start missing shots it will lower the TTK dramatically. You should try this build and see how it works for you. At the time, I am rolling with it and I am having fun with the Owen Gun again!
Damage Profile
As you can see, 50+ damage for the upper body. Which translates to, 5 shots to kill. Which is amazing. Your enemies will be out before they even realize what’s going on. You should totally try this build.
The Old Owen Gun Meta

- Barrel – Hockenson 142mm Rapid
- Optic – Nydar Model 47 / Slate Reflector / M38 Slate 2.5x Custom
- Stock – Removed Stock (if Recoil too much change to Gawain H4 Folding. Way more controllable at the sacrifice of speed.) Worth it though!
- Underbarrel – M1941 Hand Stop, for better control.
- Magazine – 7.62 Gorenko 72 Round Drum
- Ammunition – Lengthened
- Rear Grip – Polymer Grip.
- Perk 1 – Brace / Acrobatic
- Perk 2 – Quick
This Owen Gun build still slaps. If you hate the fire speed of the new build. Keep rocking this build. It is still one of the fastest killing SMGs in game. And it will fry anyone who is close to you.
