We are all familiar with the legendary Logitech G Pro Wireless. Logitech dropped this beauty on us in 2018 and it still goes hard. And up to this day, it is still the most used mouse by pro players. But, what do I think about this mouse after one year of usage, and do I think it is time to upgrade?

Let’s start from the end.

My Verdict

Logitech G Pro Wireless is still one of the best mouse choices in the market. Its great shape and design, flawless sensor and wireless technology, and perfect weight at around 80 grams make it one of the best gaming mice even after four years of its initial release.

Is It Still Worth It?

Logitech G Pro Wireless is 100% worth it even after four years of its launch. It is the most used gaming mouse by pro players and for a good reason. But, if you are looking for a lighter mouse, consider getting Logitech G Pro X Superlight. Same legendary mouse, 20 grams lighter.

Comfort

This mouse is ambidextrous, so that you can use it with both hands. You can put the buttons on each side, and generally, unlike ergonomic builds, it is considered to be the safe shape that fits almost any hand. Big or small, left or right-handed, Logitech G Pro Wireless should be comfortable for you.

There are no awkward bumps or anything that will make it uncomfortable. I’ve played around with some friends and they’ve all found it very comfortable regardless of different grip types.

Simply put, you will probably find it comfortable. Logitech worked on making the best shape they could, so it will fit almost every player. That’s why they didn’t touch the shape with their new model, Logitech G Pro X Superlight. You don’t switch a winning horse.

Style

Logitech G Pro Wireless has a very clean and clever design. It is simple, sleek, and beautiful. It has an RGB logo on the back and that’s it. Nothing too shiny. They’ve let the product do the talking. Logitech G Pro Wireless is very quiet but makes a lot of noise if it makes sense.

It’s made out of matte plastic. It feels good holding it, and it feels premium. I’ve owned many gaming mice, and none of them compare to the feel of this one.

Build Quailty

fingertip grip

Logitech G Pro Wireless feels good to use. Despite the fact it weighs 80g, it feels very sturdy and well made. There is no wobbling or anything like that. There is no noise from the inside even when aggressively shaking the mouse. Surprisingly, the buttons feel well built as well.

Even after one year of use, nothing has changed. Everything is perfectly stable and sturdy, just like brand new. It is pretty safe to say that the build quality is excellent on the Logitech G Pro Wireless.

Performance

Sensor

Logitech G Pro Wireless uses the HERO (High Efficiency Rated Optical) sensor. Simply put, you get one of the best sensors on the market. Mice companies stepped up their game when talking about sensors, and most of the mice out there will have great sensors. So it isn’t really a thing you should care too much about.

But since I am reviewing this mouse, I would say the sensor is flawless. No angle snapping, no smoothing. Everything is consistent and smooth as butter. Tracks everything precisely and accurately.

Latency

There was a consensus that wireless mice have a higher latency than wired mice. And it was true. But not anymore. Logitech G Pro Wireless manages to compete with a wired mouse and even win in some cases. Its latency is very similar to other wired mice.

Logitech G Pro uses the LIGHTSPEED technology, which transmits input faster than some competitive wired mice. As a result, there are no problems with interference, connectivity, or any delays.

Simply put, latency is not an issue anymore. Logitech G Pro Wireless is just as fast as a wired mouse, if not faster. And playing with a wireless mouse is just on a different level. There is no cable drag that messes with your aim and pulls your mouse. There is no need for a Bungie; it is portable, etc.

Wireless Connectivity

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-22 at 8.36.20 PM1

Logitech put impressive technology in Logitech G Pro Wireless. Never once in my year of usage I’ve experienced any lag, disconnection, or interference issues when using it. (I’ve used it Wireless 100% of the time).

Battery

You will get approximately 50 hours of battery time with RGB on and 60 with RGB off.

Even after one year of usage, the battery feels brand new. I am charging the mouse only once a week. There is no need to be concerned about battery life because it utilizes Lithium ION batteries, which require 300–500 complete discharge cycles before degrading to 80% capacity.

Let’s say you charge your mouse every three days. That means  121 charges per year, which means you have three years before your battery will degrade to 80% of its capacity. Pretty safe to say that you will probably have other mouse malfunctions before your battery dies.

The Superlight has about 70 hours of battery life and some gaming mice have even more, but I find 50-60 hours to be more than enough for me.

Software

Good software. Have everything you might need. It does not cause any problems, which is a good thing. For some reason, many gaming companies have terrible software. But this one is different.

I didn’t experience any problems regarding the software, and it has everything you might need.

Experience After One Year

I don’t want to sound like a fanboy too much, but it actually feels like brand new. Everything feels sturdy well made. Battery life is great. No problems regarding latency or wireless connectivity. No clicking issues which I will get to in a moment.

Overall, I am very impressed with this mouse and how it held up for one year of constant usage. Shoutout to Logitech. Very impressive stuff.

Clicking Issues?

The notoriuos problem. The double click issue. For anyone who is not familiar, Logitech always had problems regarding their switches. After some playtime with the mouse, the switches became faulty and began to double click.

But, in 2021, they’ve switched the switches (no pun intended), to the new ones that the Superlight has, and since then, there are no complaints.

So you might read in forums or in some older reviews, that double clicking is a big issue with Lopgitech mice. But not anymore, at least with this specific mouse.

I’ve been lucky and bought the G Pro with the new switches so I am probably safe in that department.

How to check if you have the new model with the new switches? Take a look at your box and see if you have under Durability: Buttons (Left / Right): 50-million-clicks. If you DO have that saying, you are using the old switches which are prone to double clicking issues. If you do not have this sentence under durability on your box, congratulations. You have the new switches.

What do I like?

I love the premium feel of the mouse. The mouse has a matte finish which feels very good in your hand. The shape is amazing and very comfortable. The weight is perfect for me. Top sensor and wireless technology. What there is not to like?

What Do I Hate?

The only con I could come up with is that its cable connectivity is Micro-USB and not Type C. It is not a deal breaker for me by any means, but I had to mention it. But that’s about it.

Sometimes, I feel like I would be glad if it were lighter, but there is Logitech Superlight for that, so Logitech got it all figured out for us.

What Do Pros Think About This Mouse?

Logitech G Pro Wireless is the most popular gaming mouse among pro players. The second most popular gaming mouse among pro players is the Logitech G Pro X Superlight which is the lighter model of the G Pro. It’s safe to say that pro players dig this mouse. And for good reason.

If it is good for the majority of pro players, then it is good for us.

Final Thoughts

I highly recommend Logitech G Pro for every player I can. It has a perfect weight, top sensor, wireless, high-quality build, and is very comfortable. There is just nothing not to like about this mouse. But, if you are looking for an even lighter mouse, consider getting Logitech G Pro X Superlight.
