You are serious about improving your aim. It is no secret that one of the best methods to improve your aim and mechanics is by utilizing aim trainers. Every pro sunk hundreds or even thousands of hours into aim trainers. So now, you realize that using aim trainers is important. But now, you ask yourself, which one should you use? If you are going to improve your aim in an external program and sink a couple hours a week into this aim trainer, you should already use the most optimal trainer for you. We will cover just that.

The most popular aim trainers are Aimlab and Kovaaks. If you are playing Osu, then stop. Realize it is just for fun and it is not the optimal way to train your aim as it is 2D game. Anyways, I am going to cover Aimlab and Kovaaks which are the two most popular and the best aim trainers in the market. Lets get started.

What's The Difference

Content

Kovaaks has been around for a while. It is the most popular aim trainer on the market and thanks to its amazing workshop, it has over 15,000 aiming scenarios. Every aiming scenario you could think of, it is probably there. Kovaaks is undoubtedly the content king. While Aimlab is not that far behind, and has thousands of scenarios as well, it just can’t compare to Kovaaks.

Speed

This one is big. I’ve played with Aimlab for a while, and after trying Kovaaks, the first thing I noticed, is its speed. Loading times between tasks are almost non-existent in Kovaaks while it takes me about 10 seconds between each task in Aimlab. Even just restarting the task, it takes time. I didn’t even know how much time I was wasting in Aimlab until I tried Kovaaks. Big, big win for Kovaaks.

UI

The UI on Aimlab looks clean and professional. It looks sleek, and very modern. The UI in Kovaaks looks like it was made by a 12 year old kid. But, it works. It is so simple to go between tasks and everything is just so intuitive. I guess, Aimlab should win that one because it is more professional and it just suits 2022 way better. But it tries too hard. It is very hard to find your tasks, there are many unnecessary options and menus there. The simplicity of Kovaaks is unbeatable even if it looks way older. After all, you are there to train your aim. Not playing with a fancy menu.

Post Match

Post-match, each one of the aim trainers has a performance page that shows how well you did on the task. Kovaaks has a solid performance page that gives you some interesting statistics like shots hit, shots fired, kills etc. But this is where Aimlab shines.
Aimlab really focused on making the post-match page very informative and helpful. It gives you a hexagon with 6 aspects of aim (accuracy, score, kills, kills per second, time to kill, and targets), which changes its shape according to your performance and your task.
It even has a page that consists of blocks on your screen which show where you hit your shots and where you don’t. I, for example, have a lower screen weakness which is very easily visible when you take a look at that page. It has an AI who tells you what to improve on. For example, left side weakness, focusing on accuracy, etc. Very useful and interesting to know. I would say Aimlab wins in that department easily.

Bugs

Aimlab is in very early development. Despite releasing in 2018. It has so many bugs. Which to be expected as it is in very early develpment. But it is 4 years now. They are really taking their time. I hopped onto Aimlab while writing this review to check something and it launched full screen in a such tiny resoultion I couldnt’ even find the settings button. So yeah, it has a lot of bugs.

Kovaaks on the other hand, is a very polished, very fast aim trainer. I didn’t even realize how much time I was wasting fighting against stupid bugs until I transitioned to Kovaaks.

Price

Aimlab is free while Kovaaks is $15. That’s one of the main advantages Aimlab has over Kovaaks. I would say, Aimlab is good for trying out a training program. Dipping your toes in the water. If you are trying to figure out if aim routines and all that trying harding is for you, you should try Aimlab first as it is free. Make sure to check out my Aimlab Guide.

There are more differences between the trainers, but these are the main ones. This is just an aim trainer. We don’t need to go overboard and inspect them element by element. Let’s talk about my honest opinion. I am trying to be fully transparent with you guys so you can choose the optimal training program for you.

My Honest Opinion

Initially, I started using Aimlab because every streamer I followed, vouched for it and did some gridshot plays on stream. So I downloaded Aimlab and started training. Then, I wanted to try Kovaaks. So many pro players swear that Kovaaks is king. And oh boy. I am not coming back.

Aimlab has many paid promotions and many streamers are getting paid to promote it. They won’t speak badly of this program because they are getting paid and we are not getting 100% honest reviews. Aimlab really tries to be more innovative and professional. But it is still in early development. Loading times are enormous. A lot of bugs, and a less educated community. By saying that Aimlab has a less educated community, I mean that most of the pros use Kovaaks. It has way more in-depth guides written by professional aimers around the world like Aimer7 guide (highly recommended).

Kovaaks is just easier to use, faster and more intuitive. It has a lot of guides you can follow written by pro players and has way more scenarios. But the one big thing that just drastically changed my opinion is its speed. It is just so fast to transition between tasks, find your favorite ones, and reset your task in the middle of one. This alone, made me transition to Kovaaks. I spent too much time loading in Aimlab.

The only thing that Aimlab has that Kovaaks doesn’t is just money for sponsors. Aimlab is everywhere while Kovaaks is left behind. But Kovaaks trainer speaks for it self.

Bottom line, I would say Kovaaks is the way to go. It is just the better pick for you at the time. But, keep an eye on Aimlab as they are really innovating and putting a lot of thought and effort onto Aimlab. I think one day Aimlab will become the aim trainers king. But it still too early for that, so for now, keep an eye on Aimlab and go purchase Kovaaks.

An investment of $15, to get the best, most optimal training experience is 100% worth it. If you are here, it means you are serious about improving your aim and your gameplay. $15 price tag for the long run is a no-brainer for me.

Conclusion

So, to conclude. Which is the best aim trainer, Kovaaks, or Aimlab? I would say Kovaaks is the best aim trainer. It’s simplicity of use, variety of scenarios, more polished UI and a more educated community makes it the best aim trainer on the market.
