Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 is my favorite CoD of all time. A few days ago, my little brother asked me what were the best weapons. I told him some of the best guns and told him to just search the web for more if he is interested. The next day, I see him running with some off-meta weapons and I ask him why he is not playing with the best weapons I recommended? He told me that these guns were what he found online.
I realized that there is barely any information about Modern Warfare 2019 meta as everyone just went to Warzone. On this list, I am going to include the sweatiest, nastiest, best weapons in the meta, so you could 100% demolish everyone in the lobby.

1. AS VAL - The Best Gun In The Game
AS VAL is the best weapon in the entire game. It is not even close in terms of meta. It has a very LOW time to kill, both in long and short ranges. recoil is easily manageable, very mobile and very clean iron sights. Its only downside is its magazine, which is 30 rounds only.
The best AS VAL meta build is:
- Barrel – VLK 200m Osa
- Stock – VLK Strelok
- Underbarrel – Commando Foregrip
- Magazie – 30 Round Mags
- Rear Grip – Stippled Grip Tape
This is the easiest pick on my list. This gun just fries everything and everyone. I wrote best gun in modern warfare on Google, and the snippet said something about M4A1 and I was instantly triggered. There is no place for any other top 1 pick. Period.
It does not even have side-to-side recoil, so basically just pull down your mouse while out gunning sniper rifles. If I am super sweaty or just wanna ruin someone’s day, I just put this gun on 1v1 and wreck havoc.
2. Uzi - The Runner Up
My favorite gun in the game. The Uzi. It is not as tryhard as the As Val. But it just deletes people. Many people believe that it is one of the worst SMG’s in the game. But, they’ve added a new ammo type for this, which makes this weapon a beast. The .41 AE rounds. Its TTK is extremely low. Its recoil is very easy, very , very fast, and its range. Oh boy. It feels like an assault rifle with the mobility of an SMG. I can peek in Shoothouse, the middle lane, and comfortably get kills. Its only downside is its iron-sights. You have to run an optic on this weapon because shooting through its default iron sights is a death sentence.
The Best Uzi meta build is:
- Barrel – FSS Carbine Pro
- Laser – Tac Laser
- Optic – G.I Mini Reflex
- Underbarrel – Merc Foregrip
- Magazine – .41 AE 32-Round Mags.
There are some people that use No Stock on this gun, but the problem is that it is just too bouncy and it is not worth it in my opinion. Especially given the huge range, sacrificing all of that just for a faster movement is too much in my opinion. But feel free to try it out by yourself. The recoil is not that forgiving with a No-Stock.
Plus, you only have 32 rounds. But because it shoots slower than the AS-VAL, it does not feel like you lack in that department. I can get multiple kills easily with one magazine as every bullet just fries.
3. CR-56 Amax - Best Weapon Contender
Amax is a beast. It hits like a truck. Recoil is easy. Range is supreme. There is nothing not to like. Plus, its iron-sights are clean and very satisfying to use. Easily one of my favorite guns in the game. Period. I had a hard time really choosing the second spot between this and the Uzi, so if you are an Amax fan. Don’t roast me please.
The best CR-56 Amax meta build is:
- Barrel – XRK Zodiac S440
- Stock – No Stock
- Underbarrel – Commando Foregrip
- Magazine – 45 Round Mags
- Rear Grip – XRX CR-56 Stippled Wrap
This is easily one of my favorite SnD guns in the game, and many people claim that it is even better than the AS VAL. Well, it is good. But nothing is better than the AS VAL. Although it has a larger magazine size, the TTK is a bit higher, which makes it a good contender.
4. SP-R 208 - Quickscope!
SP-R 208 is just op. Its ADS (aim down sight) time, is extremely low. This gun puts Kar-98 to shame with its fast mobility. Not only is it fast as hell, your reload time is very quick too. With the Kar, you reload bullet by bullet. But with this, a quick magazine change and that’s it.
The best SP-R 208 meta build is:
- Barrel – ZLR ASP
- Laser – Tac Laser
- Optic – Solozero SP-R 28mm
- Stock – XRK SP-LITE 208 Blitz
- Bolt Assembly – Sloan KR-600 Feather
Everything is built for minimum ADS time and mobility. If you are looking for an even more aggressive build, remove the Optic and add Sleight of Hand for your perk. Iron sights are very clean and you will just run with a sniper, hell, even shotgun that just deletes people at any range.
5. CX-9 - A New Beast
The CX-9. Very fast TTK, with a magazine of 50 rounds to back it up. Very snappy and fast, low recoil. It is a new SMG too, which means it is fresh and fun. A very good SMG overall. Its range is not as good as Uzi’s range, but that is totally fine as Uzi is just another level of broken.
The Best CX9 meta build is:
- Barrel – CX-38S
- Optic – G. I Mini Reflex
- Stock – CX-FA
- Magazine – 50 Round Drums
- Rear Grip – CX-9 Tac Grip
The iron-sights are horrible in my opinion. But, some people are actually playing with them with ease, so if you are one of them, you can remove the Optic and use a Merc Foregrip as an Underbarrel.
Again, this is one of the best weapons in the game. Everything apart from AS VAL feels so close in terms of meta ranking. Just because this is in the 5th spot does not mean it is bad by any means. Some might argue that it is better than the Uzi. And I can understand where they are coming from. A great weapon overall, easily one of the best.
6. FAL - A Monster In The Right Hands
The FAL. oh boy, the FAL. I’ve put this gun at the end of the list because it is a semi-auto gun. It is harder than the rest of the guns, but in the right hands, it is a monster. If you got what it takes, you will destroy lobbies with this simple gun. It is just a beast in the right hands. But, you have to make sure you are – the right hands!
The best FAL meta build is:
- Barrel – XRX Marksman
- Laser – Tac Laser
- Optic – G.I. Mini Reflex
- Stock – No Stock
- Rear Grip – Stippled Grip Tape
Now, the reason it is very low on the list, is because it is a harder gun to use than the rest of this list. Most of the people won’t be able to use it effectively as some other meta weapons, but in the right hands, you just slaughter lobbies. Very fun weapon, very strong and OP. I am starting to regret its position as I am starting to remember how powerful it actually is.
But really, if you got a decent trigger finger, it is comparable to the Amax, Uzi and CX-9. This gun is a must in my book.
7. M4A1 - The Classic (Not OP Though)
Finally, the weapon you’ve all been waiting for. The M4A1. Many people argue that it is the best weapon in the game. But, sadly, it got nerfed. And with guns like AS VAL, Uzi, and CX-9, it just can’t be the best. Is it one of the most fun weapons in the game? Totally. Is it one of the most versatile guns in the game? Absolutely. Is it the best gun in the game? Not even close. (AS VAL is just too OP)
Aggressive
The best aggressive M4A1 meta build is:
- Barrel – Stock M16 Grenadier
- Stock – No Stock
- Underbarrel – Commando Foregrip
- Magazine – 50 Round Mags
- Rear Grip – Stippled Grip Tape
Balanced
The best M4A1 meta build is:
- Muzzle – Monolithic Supressor
- Barrel – Corvus Custom Marksman
- Laser – 5mW Laser
- Magazine – 50 Round Mags
- Rear Grip – Stippled Grip Tape
There are so many viable builds. So many different ones. Every M4A1 you pick from the ground, is different. So just experiment with it. Try different builds. Prefer an optic? Throw away the laser. Need some more control? Ditch the laser and drop in a commando foregrip as an Underbarrel. Really, there are so many different combinations for this specific gun.
This gun is an instant classic. It is iconic and this gun is the reason I purchased this game. It looked so fun wrecking with this gun in Shipment. I was sold. But, is it the best one? I don’t know about that.
That's It? Where Is X?
I already hear people saying, what about MP5, MP7? Where is the RAM? Well, I am being honest with you. I want to make sure to include only the weapons that are OP (except M4A1. This is just a classic that is not OP anymore).
The MP5 is a great gun. But it got nerfed, and sadly it does not have a spot on my list. Although it is a fan favorite, and it is probably my 2nd favorite gun in the game after the Uzi, it is just not OP like the rest of this list.
